Friends of the Palestinian Circus School, Support our local circus!

The Palestinian Circus School is still a very young organization, we have ambitious plans and exciting ideas and we are very committed to make our dreams come true.

Our activities – circus clubs, shows, presentations, summers schools for our students – on top of our enthusiasm and energy need financial resources, not always easy accessible for a young and small organization like ours that is striving to promote an unusual activity in Palestine like the circus.

Many people believe in our cause and have appreciated the dedication, hard work and passion we have for all the activities we carry out and the progress of our students. Yet, a lot of support is needed!

At the moment our school had to adapt temporarily to carry out its activities in a storage room equipped with circus tools, sic! Your support would be very important to help us to find a new home for the Palestinian Circus School, a more spacious and suitable place to practice and enjoy the circus experience.

There are many ways you can support our school:

1)     Financial contributions: Your donations, big and small, all make a difference and are very important for our school. Your money is essential to support our activities such as circus clubs in different towns, organization of events and presentations of our students but not just. Your contributions will also be used to purchase circus material and equipments, including packs of lentils and balloons to make improvised juggling balls for our training.  Unfortunately, sometimes we have to use your donations to fix our “Circus Bus”: it breaks down as worn out from traveling up and down the West Bank.

2)     Volunteering: Are you a circus performer? A dancer? A theatre artist? Are you interested in volunteering? Your help is precious! If you have circus skills or experience of street arts you are welcome to join our family. Volunteers help us during training sessions and in the circus clubs, they join our students and trainers performing in shows and presentations, when they also have to get their hands dirty with backstage assistance.

3)      Creativity: If you do not have money but great ideas you can still help us in using your creativity for fundraising initiatives. You can organise a show or another event, a video-screening of our documentaries or an exhibition-sale for the Palestinian Circus School!! These initiatives, such as the one organised by the Vertigo School of Circus in 2006 in Italy consisting a small circus show whose proceeds were donated to the Palestinian Circus School, are extremely helpful.
